Advances in proton therapy require accuracies in beam delivery and dose determination . To serve such purposes, the quality assurance (QA) with ionization chambers (IC) plays an important role. The ionization chamber is preferred over other types of detectors due to its robustness and stability. Two evolutions are noted in applying this technology. The chamber has been developed from a single cell to multiple cells up to thousands channels. Its number of readout channel is also increasing dramatically because high conformity in proton therapy proposes such
demand. High speed is another surging issue for the pencil beam scan QA. Double-side XY strip IC has demonstrated to be a handy and useful tool for proton pencil scanning beam QA.

In this talk, I will summarize our detector development for proton therapy. The recent tests and verification for the latest flash proton therapy technology ( ultra-high dose rate > 40,000 cGy/second and short exposure time < 1 second) are also shown.
