The production of cold calcium ions in an ion trap

Trapped ions are one of the most promising platforms for quantum computing. It has long coherence time and extremely high fidelity quantum logic gates. Also, trapped ion system can be used in many applications, such as quantum sensing, precision measurements, and quantum simulations etc. To explore these exciting research topics, we have built an ion trap system in NTHU. In this talk, I will present the ion trap system and give the latest update on the experiment.
