We theoretically study the four-wave mixing behaviors in a Ξ−V type atomic system. The generated four-wave mixing was obtained utilizing the density matrix formalism and solving the master equation. The dressed state picture employed to elucidate the discrimination between laser scanning schemes in the number of peaks emergence and peak positions in the spectra. The dependence of the generated signal field accordingly to the change of parameters, such as Rabi frequencies and frequency detuning of the applied fields were presented and well explained in the simplified dressed state pictures.
